Meet the founder

Priscilla Del Moral

After years of struggling with anxiety and depression, I—like many others—turned to the gym as an outlet, searching for relief from everything unfolding in my life. My mission was simple: get as strong as possible. What I didn’t realize at the time was that I was also healing myself.

Through the community I found in strength training, I began to feel a sense of relief. The gym gave me more than just physical strength—it became a space to heal and grow. That experience led me to ask myself: How can I share this with other women?

As a strength coach, I made it my mission to help women see that lifting is about so much more than just physical change. It builds confidence, resilience, and a deeper connection between body and mind. But I kept running into the same challenges—conversations about women’s experiences in the gym often revealed a negative narrative. Many feared getting “too bulky,” doubted their abilities, or faced inappropriate behaviors like catcalling or harassment. Gym culture seemed to send the message that women didn’t belong in the weight room.

That’s when Strong Gurls Club was born. I thought, what if women worked out together in these spaces? Maybe the weight room wouldn’t feel as intimidating. Maybe, through community, we could start the conversations that break down these barriers. Strong Gurls Club became a way to not only introduce women to strength training but also to help them experience the power of lifting alongside a supportive community—and, hopefully, gain the confidence to share their journey with someone else.
